The German Automobile company BMW has started the mass production of the company’s fully-electric BMW i4 four-door coupe, and according to the reports, the production of the first BMW i4 had been completed at the factory of BMW based in Munich, Germany, which has been another milestone for the company after the production of the electric BMW iX SUV, which has been started around three months ago.
The new 2022 BMW i4 has been supposed to be paving the way towards the radical electrification the product lineup of BMW, and the company has also been planning to equip more than 50 percent of its cars with the electric engines by 2023.
But this strategic objective of the company has been including the fully electric vehicles and cars along with the hybrid powertrains, and the company supposed to be working evenly on a fully electric version of the company’s flagship 7 Series sedan, which is going to be called as BMW i7.
On the other hand, the BMW i4 is going to be competing against the Tesla Model 3, which has been the reason why the BMW i4 has received the unofficial nickname of ‘Tesla Fighter’, and the car is going to have a starting price of 55,400 US dollars, and the care is considerably more expensive than the Tesla Model 3.
With this price, the owners of the new BMW i4 along with the eDrive 40 powertrain can possibly achieve a range of around 300 miles, as the 334 horsepower engine provides a 0 to 60 mph time of just 5.5 seconds.
