The automobile company ‘Honda’ said, it is aiming to sell around 800,000 electric vehicles in the region of North America by 2030, and according to a report, the initial push for attaining this target is going to come from the partnership between General Motors and Honda.
Shinji Aoyama, senior managing executive officer in-charge of electrification strategy of Honda has now informed about the plans of Honda for introducing the new electric vehicles in the market of North America in the second half of the year 2025 and early months of 2026.
Honda is also wanting to make around 40 percent to 50 percent of the company’s output as the electric vehicles for the mentioned automobile market. Shinji Aoyama, said, this has been in the line with their 2050 carbon neutrality goals, and this has also been because of the US regulations but this can possibly change depending on the changes in the administration of the United States.
Honda has also been planning to develop the three new dedicated platforms for the electric vehicles also in the partnership with the company ‘General Motors’. With a focus for strengthening the company’s foothold in the United States, Honda is aiming to bring in a full-size electric model in the market, which is going to be based on a new and large platform.
General Motors and Honda is jointly wanting to develop the affordable electric vehicles for the global markets although, it is not been much revealed about the announcement. General Motors has said that, it is going to be developing two premium electric SUVs for Honda in the region of North America.
