Microsoft to Shut Down LinkedIn in China

The technology company ‘Microsoft’ has been shutting down the company’s main LinkedIn service in China later 2021 after the internet rules in the country had been tightened by the Chinese government, as the technology giant of the United States for decreasing its ties to the country.

The company ‘Microsoft’ said, it has been facing a greater compliance requirement and challenging environment in the country of China, and LinkedIn is going to replace all its localised platform in the country of China along with a new application called as the InJobs that is having some of the career-networking features like LinkedIn but it the application is not going to include a social feeds, along with the ability of sharing the articles or post.

In March 2021, LinkedIn said, it is also going stop the new member registrations on the LinkedIn China due to the not specified regulatory issues, and in May 2021, the internet watchdog of China said, it has found that, Bing search engine and LinkedIn of Microsoft, along with around 100 other applications had been engaged in the improper use and collection of data and the watchdog has also ordered for fixing the problem.

The company said, it has been over seven years since it has launched a site of LinkedIn in the Chinese language, and the written characters that has been used on the mainland for the purpose of expanding the reach of the company in the country.
