Britishvolt and Glencore Partnered To Built EV Battery Recycling Plant in UK

Glencore, a mining company and Britishvolt are now going to jointly develop a new battery recycling plant in the United Kingdom that is going to be providing help in reusing the expensive and key raw materials such as lithium and cobalt as said by both the companies.

The plant is going to be built at a site of an operation of Glencore located in the Northfleet in the eastern region of London and it is all set to be launched in the year 2023, and this new recycling facility is going to be able to process at least 10,000 tonnes of the batteries of lithium-ion every year, and both the companies has not revealed the financial investments and also how many jobs are going to be created.

But according to a source, the plant is going to be employing around 400 employees, and this plant is also going to be processing the battery manufacturing scrap from the planned battery factory or facility of Britishvolt in the northern region of the United Kingdom.

As the automobile industry has been gearing up to the shift of producing only electric vehicles that have been spurring on purchasing the proposed bans on the vehicles of fossil fuels in the upcoming decade and the pressure for the purpose of producing the environmentally and socially responsible batteries that has been increased and the recycling batteries is also going to be decreasing the amount of Cobalt and lithium that the United Kingdom will now be need for importing to make the electric vehicles.
