Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has now taken the decision for suspending the sales of its vehicles to Russia followed by the invasion of Ukraine, and the company has announced that, it has made the decision because of the wellbeing of the company’s workforce and also those within the extended network of the company.
The sanctions that are imposed on Russia have been largely restricted the ability of the companies for the purpose of selling the goods in Russia. The company ‘JLR’ said that, the first priority of the company has been the wellbeing of their complete workforce and their families and also the people within their extended network.
Jaguar Land Rover also said that, the current global context has also been presenting them with the trading challenges so that, they are suspending the delivery of the vehicles into the market of Russia and has continuously been monitoring the situation on behalf of the company’s base of global customer.
Another automobile company ‘BMW’ said that, the plant of the company for ‘Mini’ based in Oxford is going to be seeing the production has been standing down for five days starting from 7th March to 11th March 2022 as a result of the ongoing situation for supplying the parts that is now also including the Ukraine crisis.
A spokesperson of BMW said that, no associate will have to go unpaid as a result of the suspension and they are in the discussions with the union regarding how this is going to be managed.
