On Monday, 18th October 2021, the automobile company ‘Ford’ announced that, it is going to invest 230 million pounds for the purpose of transforming a factory in the region of northwest United Kingdom into a factory that is going to be making the components for the electric vehicles.
Ford said, the transmission of vehicle facility in the region of Halewood, Merseyside, is going to be turned into an electric power unit manufacturing plant, and the company has also stressed that, the investment in the plant has been subject to and it also include support from the government of United Kingdom, that is reportedly amounted to around 30 million pounds.
Stuart Rowley, president of Ford Europe said, this has been an important step, along with marking the first in-house investment of the company in the all EV component production in the continent of Europe, and it has also been strengthening ability of the company for the purpose of delivering 100 percent of the Ford passenger vehicles in the continent of Europe that is being all-electric and their commercial vehicle sales are also being all-electric by the year 2030.
Ford said, it is also going to start producing the electric power unites at the Halewood in the year 2024, which is also going to be adding the plans for the production of around 250,000 vehicles at the facility every year.
Kwasi Kwarteng, business minister of UK said, the decision of Ford for building its first electric vehicle components in Europe at the site of the company in United Kingdom has been remained as one of the best locations in the world for the production of high-quality automobile.
