New Mutation of Delta Covid-19 Variant Being Monitored in UK

On Tuesday, 19^th October 2021, according to the official health data in United Kingdom, a new mutation of the Delta novel corona virus variant has been expanding in the United Kingdom, and it is also being monitored and assessed in the country. The variant AY.4.3, also known as Delta Plus has been containing the mutations that might be responsible for giving the novel corona virus an advantage for the greater survival.

The sublineage has also been increasing in the frequency, but the experts does not believe that, it is going to be responsible for the continuation of the high number of the daily novel corona virus infections in the country, that has been hit by 49,156 new corona virus cases on Monday, 18^th October 2021.

According to the UK Health Security Agency, the new sublineages of the Delta covid-19 variants had been regularly identified and designated, and one of the recently designated sublineage has been the AY.4.2., and the Delta sublineage has been newly designated as AY.4.2 has been noted to be expanding in the United Kingdom, and it has now been a signal in monitoring and the assessment has also been commenced, and there are small number of the new cases of the Delta corona virus variant with E484K and E484Q.

The new mutation of the variant has not been considered as a variant of concern or a variant under investigation yet as these categories has been assigned to the variants based on the level of risk associated with the variants.
