WHO: Europe Might See 236,000 Covid-19 Deaths by December 2021

The World Health Organization (WHO) has warned, another 236,000 people can possibly lose their lives from the novel corona virus in Europe by December 2021, which has been giving the indication over the increasing infections and the continuously decreasing corona virus vaccination rates on the continent of Europe.

The countries across the continent have seen the rates of the corona virus infection increase as the highly contagious Delta variant of the novel corona virus takes hold, more specifically among the unvaccinated people, and the poor countries in the regions including the Caucasus and Central Asia, have been the hardest hit countries by the novel corona virus and the covid-19 deaths are also increasing as well.

On Monday, 30th August 2021, Hans kluge, director of WHO Europe said, last week, there had been an increase of 11 percent in the number of deaths in the region and according to a reliable projection, WHO is expecting around 236,000 deaths in the continent of Europe by December 1st 2021.

Hans Kluge also said, the continent of Europe has registered around 1.3 million deaths related to the novel corona virus till now and around 64 million corona virus cases, and from the 53 member states of WHO Europe, 33 member states have also registered a covid-19 incidence rate, which has been greater than 10 percent in the last two weeks, and the high transmission rates across the continent of Europe had been deeply worrying, specifically in the light of the lower corona virus vaccination uptake in the populations of the priority in the number of nations.
