Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), a flagship company of Mahindra Group and Volkswagen Group, said they intend to expand their strategic alliance to accelerate the electrification of the automobile market in India. The companies have signed a Term Sheet for the supply of MEB electric components to the newly built electric platform of Mahindra known as INGLO.
With this extended alliance, both companies aim to have a volume of over one million units. It and also includes the equipment of five all-electric SUVs with MEB components.
Additionally, Mahindra & Mahindra and Volkswagen also plan to explore opportunities for collaboration, with the view of opening the perspective towards a broad strategic alliance to accelerate the electrification of the automobile market in India. This partnership is deepening their agreement.
Mahindra Group introduced their new electric SUV family at the Mahindra Born EV vision reveal event in the United Kingdom. The electric SUVs will also be launched on the all-new INGLO platform and are envisaged to be equipped with MEB components, including the electric drivetrain, battery cells and the battery system.
Both companies will negotiate a final supply agreement in a constructive, and legal complaint by the end of 2022. The signing of the term sheet has been a significant step forward in their partnership with Volkswagen, and the INGLO platform offers unmatched potential for the growth and further customization for developing new and innovative products for global markets.
