Study: Pfizer Covid-19 Vaccine for 5-11 Years Old Cut Omicron Hospitalizations by 68%

As the corona virus vaccine developed by Pfizer and BioNTech have become available in October 2021 for the children coming in the age group of 5 to 11 years old, and most of the parents have been hesitant for having them vaccinated. On March 16 2022, only 27 percent had now received two corona virus vaccine doses.

A study has reported that, the novel corona virus vaccination of the 5 to 11 year old children that has decreased the hospitalizations with the novel corona virus by over two thirds during the increase in the Omicron cases and protected against serious sickness.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) of the United States has also confirmed that, then corona virus vaccination has decreased the corona virus hospitalizations in the adolescents in the age group of 12 years to 18 years of age and has also provide serious sickness in the line in the beginning of 2022.

Adrienne Randolph, from Boston Children’s Hospital and co-author of the study said, the main reason for a child for getting a corona virus vaccine has been to prevent serious complications of the corona virus infection including the hospitalizations.

This evidence has been showing that, the novel corona virus vaccination has been decreasing the risk substantially in the children of 5 to 11 years of age and as the corona virus vaccination has successfully provided protection in the adolescents against the hospitalization along with the Omicron variant and it has also prevented serious sickness from the both the variants of the virus.
