Study: Migraine Patients in UK Face Broken Healthcare System

According to a new study, United Kingdom is now having a broken healthcare system that is responsible for leaving millions of migraine patients without taking any treatment or doing a proper diagnosis.

According to a report, it has been estimated that, one in every seven people in the United Kingdom have been suffering from the migraine attacks, and most of the patients have been saying that, they have not been diagnosed by a doctor officially and they have also never seen a specialist of headache.

Those people, who have been diagnosed with migraine are troubling for getting a new class of the drugs for the purpose of preventing the disease, which are known as calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) inhibitors, although, the medications have also been approved for use by the National Health Service (NHS) of United Kingdom.

According to a migraine patient, his migraine has been never managed properly by the NHS UK, and the patient had been suffering for around 13 years and they have also been increasingly becoming worse every year, and the patient has been bed bound at least one tine in a week.

The migraine trust of United Kingdom has also filed for the request for the Freedom of Information along with around 0ne hundred NHS healthcare systems in the regions of United Kingdom, Wales, Northern Ireland and Wales and the trust has also found that, only a few people had been giving the eligible patients access to the treatment of CGRP.
