The government of United Kingdom, a new offshore energy taskforce is going to be launched in the country with the aim of creating a digital and data strategy, that has been spanning the oil, gas and renewables in United Kingdom.
The Data Strategy Taskforce and Offshore Energy Digital has now been launched by the Net Zero Technology Centre (NZTC), along with the Oil and Gas Authority (OGA) and the trade body of United Kingdom OGUK, and the Energy System Catapult (ESC) and the Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) Catapult have now been partnering for the process of running the new taskforce.
The initiative is going to bring different participants that includes the Crown Estate, along with the Crown Estate Scotland, RenewableUK and the Technology Leadership Board for the purpose of encouraging a modern, integrated, and digitalized industry.
The target of the United Kingdom for achieving the net zero carbon emissions by 2050, that has been placing the significant obligations on the offshore energy industry for the purpose of accelerating the deployment of the alternative energy vectors, that has been including hydrogen and offshore wind and also the storage and carbon capture.
At the same time, the industry has been continuing to decrease the emissions across all the existing construction, operational, manufacturing and decommissioning endeavours. Nic Granger, director of corporate at OGA said, he has been pleased for heading the Offshore Energy Digital and Data Strategy Taskforce in the United Kingdom.
He also said, the data has been a critical asset and the digital solutions have been powered by the quality data that is going to enable them to understand the wide energy system of the country.
