Shell, British Oil and Gas Company has announced the launch of a green energy business for the purpose of serving the residential power market in the United States. As it is named as Shell Energy Solutions, the business is providing the electricity generated from the renewable energy sources to the eligible customers in the region of Texas.
This business is going to be offering fully renewable electricity plans to the customers in the competitive areas of the Energy Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) grid. Glenn Wright, vice-president of Renewables and Energy Solutions of Shell Americas said, they are now excited regarding this entry into the residential electricity market and is also looking forward for providing a suite of 100 percent renewable electricity plans for the customers across the state.
Shell is widely known for the company’s leadership in the process of developing and delivering the low-carbon solutions for the commercial customers. The company said, as they have been backed by their extensive energy trading and marketing expertise and they can also offer the new products to the residential customers who want some sustainable and innovative energy plans for their respective homes.
According to a statement of the company, the launch of the Shell Energy Solutions has been building on the acquisition of MP2 Energy of Shell Energy North America in the year 2017. Shell Energy Solutions is also going to be offering the incentives for attracting the new customers including offering the free charging to the drivers of the electric vehicle during the off-peak hours.
