France’s Waga Energy Signs Renewable Natural Gas Contract in US

Waga Energy, a biomethane company based in France has now signed a contract with the Steuben County, based in New York, USA for the purpose of developing a Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) project at a landfill of municipal solid waste located in the town of Bath in the country.

The company ‘Waga Energy’ is going to be building the landfill gas upgrading unit has been using the company’s patented the WAGABOX technology, that has been combining the filtration of membrane and the cryogenic distillation for the purpose of separating the methane from the landfill gas.

Once the project will be completed, the unit is going to be producing the grid complaint of Renewable Natural Gas, which is also called as biomethane from the methane that has been generated by the decomposition of the waste in the landfill of the plant.

The natural gas unit is also going to be commissioned by the month of March 2023 and is also going to be purifying the 1,000 standard cubic feet per minute of the raw gas in the landfill for the purpose of delivering the 60 GWh of the Renewable Natural Gas.

Mathieu Lefebvre, cofounder and CEO of Waga Energy said that, they are very honored for having selected by the Steuben County for the purpose of upgrading the methane for the Bath landfill of the company, and the first contract in the United States has also been marking a large milestone for the purpose of introducing their WAGABOX solution to the market in the United States.
