UK Approves ‘Covishield’ Covid-19 Vaccine in Travel Advisory

On Wednesday, 22^nd September 2021, the government of United Kingdom has revised the travel advisory in which, it has said that, the Covishield covid-19 vaccine, that had been jointly developed by the Oxford University and AstraZeneca is going to qualified as the accepted vaccine for the travelers that are going to be visiting the United Kingdom from any part of the world starting from 4^th October 2021.

Although, the fully vaccinated people from India with both the doses of Covishield is still needing to quarantine themselves in the United Kingdom because of an issue over the certification of the vaccine, even though, the country has now been added to the amber list.

The guidelines that have been provided in the latest advisory has been suggesting that, the United Kingdom has no problems with the formulation of the Covishield vaccine, but the problem is with the certification provided by India. In the latest advisory, the government of United Kingdom said that, along with the Covishield, the other formulations of the four mentioned vaccines should also be qualifying as the approved vaccines.

The new travel advisory, that has been issued by the United Kingdom said, the travellers coming to the United Kingdom must have done a complete course of an approved corona virus vaccine at least before 14 days arriving in the United Kingdom, and the in the travel rules, the United Kingdom said, the fully vaccinated people of India by Covishield should have to quarantine themselves for 10 days after entering into the country.
