US DOE Announced Funding for Wave Energy Technology Projects

The Department of Energy of United States has recently announced, around 27 million dollars in the federal funding, is going to be approved for the projects of research and development, that are mainly focused on the wave energy.

In the current attempt of the Department of Energy, for the purpose of encouraging the innovation within an energy sector that is having a very small footprint as compared to several other types of the renewable energy, and on Tuesday, 6th July 2021, the Depart of Energy said, the funding is going to be aiming to the process of advancing the wave energy technologies towards the commercial viability.

The selected projects are going to undertake their research at the facility at the PacWave South facility, that has been at the off cost of Oregon, and the construction of the facility at the PacWave South, that has been successful in receiving the grants from the State of Oregon and the US Department of Energy, along with the other, which started in the past month, and it is expected to be operational in 2023.

Jennifer M. Granholm, Energy Secretary of United States of America said in a statement issued with the announcement of Department of Energy said, with the wave energy technology, they are now having the opportunity for adding more renewable power to the grid and also deploying more sustainable energy for the purpose of reaching the communities, and until now, the development of the wave energy technologies has not been exclusive to the United States of America.
