CHS and Bayer Partnered to Bring Carbon Program Access to More US Farmers

CHS Inc., biggest agriculture cooperative company in the United States and Bayer, an industry leader and innovating company in the carbon marketplace have made a partnership, which is going to make the Bayer Crop Science, the carbon program partner for the company ‘CHS Inc.’, along with the most accessible carbon program for the farmers in the United States.

The partnership is going to bring together two of the major leaders of the agriculture industry for providing help to more farmers for participating in and getting the benefits from the carbon-smart practices. CHS Inc., has been owned by more than 900 local cooperatives and around 75,000 farmers and ranchers across the United States, and the this partnership is also going to be extending the Bayer Carbon Program to the owners of the CHS farmers across 17 states of the country, that are already covered by the program including Montana, Colorado, Oklahoma, and Texas.

Dean Hendrickson, vice president, agronomy at CHS Inc., said, the CHS has chosen to collaborate with Bayer because the carbon program of the company is simple, built and established on the most connected and widely used platform of the industry known as the Climate FieldView. He also said, the program of Bayer is very easy for the farmers to use and provide them with the flexibility for adopting the climate-smart practices of farming like the cover crops.

Leo Bastos, head of Global Commercial Ecosystems for Bayer said, CHS Inc., has been a trusted farming advisor and they are also looking forward for strengthening their long-term relationship for the purpose of expanding their carbon program to the customers of CHS Inc.
