PepsiCo, a leading F&B company has been on hunt for the novel sustainability technology in the food and beverage industry for the purpose of complementing its business within the region of Middle East along with the plans for looking at the other markets including Asia Pacific in the future.
The company has launched its PepsiCo Greenhouse Accelerator programme for the Middle East and North America (MENA) region in the month of November 2021, and the first edition of the company is specially focused on the region. Previously in 2022, the company has also announced 10 local finalists had also been shortlisted and is also awarded a grant of 20,000 dollars and also guided mentorships and are now going through the accelerator programme for six-months in the hopes of winning a grant of 100,000 dollars from PepsiCo at the completion of this programme.
Eugene Willemsen, chief executive officer of PepsiCo for Middle East, Africa, and South Asia said, at PepsiCo, the sustainability approach of the company has been integrated into and not separate from their business and they have also thought very hard regarding how to ensure that, their approach is having a meaningful and tangible impact on building a more sustainable food system and has also realised that, the innovation has been crucial to their efforts.
He also said that, hence, they all want to nurture the next generation of the innovators by supporting the entrepreneurs and start-ups for launching and growing a new business that are now looking to change the future of the global food supply chain.
