Volvo Planning New Technique of Mega-Casting for Next-Gen EVs

The automobile company ‘Volvo’ has now confirmed that, the company’s next-generation fully electric vehicles models is going to be making the use of the a new mega-casting technique for the production of the vehicles has been possibly made by an investment of 810 million pounds in the company’s production facility at Torslanda.

The first car of the company for featuring the new technology that can possibly be a production version of the concept recharge that is named as Embla is going to be produced in the year 2025.

The mega-casting technique has been involving moulding a section of a car with the components built into the panel along with decreasing the complexity when it has been coming to the main assembly and the company’s utilised by the Model Y SUV by Tesla.

The company is also planning to use the technology for the purpose of creating a single floor pan of mega-cast aluminium, and the floor pans for the next generation electric vehicles of the company will be having the mounting points for the items such as electric motors and suspension arms that are already built in that are negating the need for a rear subframe, and the company is also saying that, the technology is going to be trimming around 100 parts from every car.

The company is considering ways for the purpose of scaling up the technology, but the engineers of the company are waiting for the machinery for catching up with their ambitions.
