UK Records new 141,472 Coronavirus Cases and 97 Deaths in Last 24 Hours

The United Kingdom has registered new 141,472 covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours along with bringing the total number of the corona virus cases in the country to 14,475,192, as per the figures that have been released on Sunday, 9^th January 2021.

The government of the United Kingdom has also recorded a further of 97 deaths related to the corona virus that has been bringing the total number of the deaths related to the disease to 150,154 in the country.

The latest data has come a day after the government of the United Kingdom has passed the grim milestone of 150,000 deaths reported to covid-19 as the it has been the seventh country in the world followed by the countries including Brazil, India, Mexico, Russia, Peru and the United States.

Professor Kevin Fenton, public regional health director of London said that, the capital of the United Kingdom might have also passed or being at the peak of the country’s latest wave of the novel corona virus infections, and he also said that, the peak might have been occurring around the period of the new year, which has been based on the data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) of the United Kingdom.

He also said that, the city of London has been also witnessing the decrease in the overall rates of the corona virus cases even though the levels of the covid-19 infection has remain very high along with one in the 10 people of the city infected with the covid-19 virus.
