US Witnessed Its Highest Single-Day Increase in Covid-19 Cases

The rapid spread of the new Omicron covid-19 variant in the United States has been driving the daily number of the new corona virus cases to a record increase of more than 510,000 corona virus cases across the United States.

It has also been the highest increase in the number of the corona virus cases in a single day since the beginning of the novel corona virus pandemic in the country, and a total of 512,553 new corona virus cases and 1,762 new deaths related to the corona virus had been reported across the United States on Monday, 27^th December 2021.

Over the previous week, around 1,660,000 new novel corona virus cases and more than 10,000 new deaths related to the corona virus had been added to the tally, as per the data from the Johns Hopkins University. According to the latest data from the US CDC, the average seven-day daily increase in the number of the novel corona virus cases have reached more than 206,000 on Sunday 26^th December 2021, and this has also been the highest figure since 18^th January 2021.

The new Omicron covid-19 variant, which had been first identified in the southern regions of Africa, has been responsible for sending the infections increasing to the levels which are not seen since last winter in the United States that has been responsible for bringing the total number of the corona virus in the United States to over 52.9 million along with over 819,000 total deaths in the country.
