UK Government Offers 26-million Pounds Funding Scheme to Support Biomass Expansion

The government of the United Kingdom has now started a funding scheme of 26 million pounds for the purpose of providing support to the deployment of the sustainable biomass in the country, and the now the developers can also bid for a piece of the scheme for the use of the materials like hemp, grasses and the seaweed for helping the United Kingdom to reaching the target of Net Zero.

The selected project are going to be responsible for driving the productivity of biomass through the process of planting, harvesting and cultivation of the organic matter from the materials such as the algae, to the complete trees through the process of sustainable forestry operations.

The new funding, which is going to be available through the Phase 2 of the Biomass Feedstocks Innovation Programme, is going to be seeing the projects for the purpose of designing the new innovative ways of boosting the production of biomass in the country.

Each of the selected project is going to be able to bid for around 4 million pounds in the funding from the demonstrator projects of multiple sites that is going to be showcasing the production of the biomass feedstock projects in the multiple locations across the United Kingdom.

Around 25 biomass project are located across the country, including the start-ups and also be business run by families to the research institutes and the universities, that have already received a share of the 4 million pounds fund under the first phase of the programme, and in the second phase, the projects are going to be developed from the design stage to the complete demonstration projects.
