Renewable Energy Industry Urged Government to Double Onshore Wind Energy Capacity in UK

According to a new report from RenewableUK showing that, how the expansion of the onshore wind energy industry can possibly help in stopping the carbon emissions along with bolstering the security of energy in the country.

The RenewableUK has been calling the government of the United Kingdom for the purpose of doubling the current onshore wind energy capacity of United Kingdom in the coming decade for the purpose of helping them to ensure the country for meeting the government’s 2035 target for generating 100 percent of the green electricity.

The trade association of renewable energy of the United Kingdom has launched an Onshore Wind Industry Prospectus that has been proposing to work with the central government of the United Kingdom and also with the devolved administrations in the countries including Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales for the purpose of accelerating the development of the onshore wind energy farms along with unlocking the economic benefiting projects, which can be provided for the billpayers and the local communities.

Currently, the government of the United Kingdom has also been installing on an average of just more than 600 megawatt per year of the onshore wind energy capacity, but the RenewableUK has been suggesting that, the country will need to install 1,250 megawatt per year for the purpose meeting the projection of the Climate Change Committee for the United Kingdom for delivering 35 gigawatt of the onshore wind energy by the year 2035 for providing help in achieving the target of net zero carbon emissions.
