Siemens and Deutsche Bahn (DB) Launches World’s First Automatic Train in Germany

Deutsche Bahn (DB) and the Siemens Mobility has together developed the world’s first automatic train, that has been operating directly by itself in the rail traffic. Dr. Richard Lutz, CEO of DB and Dr. Roland Busch, CEO of Siemens, along with Dr. Peter Tschentscher, Mayor of Hamburg, has successfully presented the train as the train has made its premiere run.

The train has been controlled by the digital technology, and it has been fully automated, and the driver remains on the train for the purpose of supervising the journey along with the passengers travelling in the train, and the shunting like turning the train around has been done without any of the on-board personnel or staff.

Dr. Richard Lutz, CEO of DB said, they are now experiencing the true turn of an era as the railroad has now arrived in the digital future and the Digital Rain Germany project has also become a reality, along with the automated rail operations, and they can also offer their passengers a significantly expanded, improved and more reliable service without having to lay a single kilometer of the new railway track, and it has been their goal for making the rail transport in the country more attractive to more number of people, that has been the only way by which they can achieve the transition of the mobility.

The partners in the project including Siemens, DB and City of Hamburg have invested 60 million euros in the digital S-Bahn Hamburg, that has been a part of the Digital Rain Germany Project of the company ‘DB’.
