Use of Renewables in Germany Dropped on Lower Wind Output

Power & Energy

On Monday, the industry group said, the usage of the renewable energy in Germany had been accounted lower in the first half of 2021 as the output of the wind energy in the country have been dramatically decreased to 42.6 percent of the total energy.

The Centre for Solar Energy and Hydrogen Research (ZSW) and BDEW, which is a utility industry association jointly said, both the onshore and offshore wind energy have been able to meet only 21 percent of the consumer demand in Germany, which is down from 28 percent.

The final figures had been calculated under the requirements of the European Union, which base the market share on the usage of the energy and not on the production of the energy, and the overall consumption of the power in first six months of 2021 in Germany had been increased by 5.5 percent which is 285.5 billion kWh.

The domestic production of Electricity in Germany has been increased by 4.6 percent to 292.1 billion kWh, that has left Germany a net exporter of renewable energy. The production of the renewable energy in Germany along with the wind energy also includes the hydro energy, solar energy, waste energy, geothermal energy, and biomass energy, which in total has contributed 121.7 billion kWh, which is dropped by 11.3 percent in 2021.
