US Approves License for Huawei to Buy Auto Chips

The officials of the United States have approved the license applications, which worth hundreds of millions of dollars for the blacklisted telecom company Huawei based in China for purchasing the chips for the company’s growing automobile component business, as said by the people familiar with matter.

According to the reports, the government of the United States have granted the licenses, which will be authorizing the suppliers to sell the auto chips to the company Huawei for the vehicle components as the sensors and video screens, and the approvals comes as the company has been pivoting the business of Huawei towards the items, which has been less susceptible to the trade bans of the United States.

In the response to the report, US Senator Marco Rubio, have been calling this move, another example of the failure of Joe Biden for the purpose of protecting the national and economic security of the United States, and he also said, the company ‘Huawei’ is having a long history of exporting the digital authoritarianism of China and have also pressed the administration of Joe Biden for increasing the restrictions and penalties on Huawei and several other Chinese technology companies instead of granting the waivers.

A spokesperson of the United States Department of Commerce said, the government of the United States is continuing to consistently apply the licensing policies for restricting the access of Huawei to the software, commodities or the technology for the activities that can possibly cause harm to the foreign policy interests and national security of the United States.
