UK to Invest on Use High Temperature Gas Nuclear Reactors to Generate Heat for Industry

Under the new plans that have been outlined by the government of United Kingdom, the high temperature gas nuclear reactors (HTGRs) can possibly be responsible in providing the low-carbon process heat for the purpose of helping the process of decarbonization in the heavy industry of the country.

The government of United Kingdom is also consulting on the plans for investing 170 million pounds for the purpose of demonstrating the high temperature gas nuclear reactors (HGTRs) technology by 2030, and the main objective of this program is to show that, the advanced modular reactors (AMRs) can possibly produce the high temperature heat.

This initiative can be responsible in providing a more sustainable form of the processed heat for the likes of glass, production of cement and chemical rather than burning the fossil fuels like the natural gas, and these reactors are smaller in size than those, which are currently being used at several of the conventional nuclear plants so that, they can possibly be used for the industrial and regional purposes that also includes the production of the low- carbon hydrogen.

In the different forms of the AMR technologies, the government of United Kingdom is also asking for the feedback on whether the government should be prioritizing the devilment of the high temperature gas reactors (HTGRs) that are capable of producing the temperatures of 700 degrees Celsius to 900 degrees Celsius and which are also using helium for the purpose of the cooling the reactors.
