How much Twitter will charge for selling inactive usernames is still unknown. People with knowledge of the plans said that the company has discussed selling some user names through online auctions, according to the report.
Musk tweeted in December that Twitter would soon begin releasing 1.5 billion usernames for free. According to Elon Musk, Twitter will soon begin releasing the name space of 1.5 billion accounts, and the company will also delete accounts with no tweets and no log in for years.
Musk posted that he was interested in freeing up accounts with usernames he wanted after buying Twitter for $44 billion.
