Navdeep Saini and Rohit Sharma Ruled Out of Second Test against Bangladesh

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed that captain Rohit Sharma will miss the second test against Bangladesh following injury. With Rohit Sharma, fast bowler Navdeep Saini has also been ruled out of the second test match against Bangladesh, says BCCI. Rohit Sharma has missed India’s victory against Bangladesh in the first test after sustaining a blow to his thumb during the preceding ODI series against Bangladesh.

BCCI said that, the medical team has given its opinion that Rohit Sharma needs some more time to recover completely before playing again and field with full intensity, and he will continue his rehab until full recovery. According to the BCCI, Navdeep Saini has also been ruled out of the second test against Bangladesh as he is suffering from an abdominal muscle strain.

KL Rahul will continue as the stand-in captain for the second test as well. For the second test, Indian team include KL Rahul, Cheteshwar Pujara, Shreyas Iyer, Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, Rishabh Pant, Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel, Kuldeeep Yadav, Mohammad Siraj, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Jaydev Unadkat, Saurab Kumar, and KS Bharat.

According to the BCCI, both players will be available for the third test against Bangladesh.
