Argentina Receives $42-Million for Winning FIFA World Cup 2022

Lionel Messi not only won the World Cup with Argentina by defeating France in an incredible final, but  he and his teammates will receive a significant financial reward for their success.

Every FIFA World Cup participant receives prize money for participating, but the more each team advances through the group stages and knockout rounds, the more money each national federation receives. The FIFA World Cup winner was expected to receive the most money of any previous champion this year.

The players will not receive all of Argentina’s 42 million dollars for winning the World Cup, but they are expected to receive a substantial portion of it. The distribution of the funds is decided by the Argentina soccer federation. Argentina will receive an additional 4 million dollars in prize money compared to France, which received 38 million dollars at the 2018 World Cup.

Since Italy was awarded 2.2 million dollars for winning the World Cup in 1982, reports claim that FIFA has been making headlines about prize money awarded at World Cups ever since.

Regardless of finishing last, France will get 30 million dollars, third-place finisher Croatia will get 27 million dollars, and fourth-place Morocco will get 25 million dollars.
