Saudi Arabia Wants Investors to Buy Liverpool and Manchester United

Saudi Arabia’s sports minister, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faisal, said his government would definitely support any private industry bids from Saudi Arabia for Manchester United and Liverpool.

While the Saudi Public Investment Fund backed the purchase of Newcastle United, Saudi Arabia’s sports minister said that private businesses in Saudi Arabia have a strong interest in the most successful clubs in England, with both instructing banks regarding the sale and potential investment.

Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faisal said that from the private industry, he cannot speak on their behalf, but there is a lot of appetite, passion, and interest in football. Premier league is the most-watched league in Saudi Arabia and they have a lot of fans of the Premier League.

Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faisal added that they will definitely support it if Saudi Arabia’s private industry comes in, because they know that is going to positively reflect on sports within the kingdom.

According to the prince, he wish to see Cristiano Ronaldo play in Saudi Arabia, and Ronaldo is a free agent after leaving Manchester United by mutual agreement this week, and he recently stated that Ronaldo turned down a two-year deal in summer worth over 300 million pounds a year from a Saudi football club.
