Google to take down Street View App from 2023

Google plans to remove the standalone Street View app from all app stores in 2023. Google will also drop support for the app in March 2023, said a Google spokesperson, Madison Gouveia. Google’s Street View app is currently available on both Android and iOS, and it allows users to check out places on Google Maps with Street View.

It is likely that Google is pulling back Street View from maps in any significant way, and the company also showed off some ways it is planning to make the Street View app more immersive, including ‘Immersive View’ which gives users a 3D aerial view of a particular location gives information related to traffic and weather.

Meanwhile, Google has also stopped its plans to enforce the billing system of Google Play on Indian app developers as of October 31, 2022. Google has announced the plan through a new update to its help page. This move came after the Competition Commission of India (CCI) imposed two fines on Google for violating the regulations in India.

Developers in India were given an additional extension until October 31, 2022, because of the unique circumstances of the payments landscape in India, said Google. Google said that the company is planning to halt enforcement of the requirement for developers to use billing system of Google Play for purchasing digital goods and services for transactions by users in India while it reviews its legal options.
