EverGrain Launched Sustainable Barley Rice Protein

EverGrain Ingredients is planning to launch a barley rice protein ingredient that helps brands maintain the taste, nutrition, and texture content typically found in their animal-based counterparts.

EverGrain Ingredients is a member of the Plant Based Foods Association (PBFA), the only trade association in the United States supporting plant-based food companies, and organiser of the Plant Based World Expo.

Greg Belt, chief executive officer of EverGrain, said that they see it as the perfect place for EverPro to flourish. He also said it is what they consider the answer to the call for nutrient-dense, better-tasting, and quantifiably more sustainable plant-based protein in the industry.

The barley rice protein of EverGrain boasts a market-leading solubility, and is suitable for plant-based protein bars, beverages, and ready-to-mix powders. The barley rice protein has 85 percent protein content, with a complementary amino acid profile to pea protein, which enables a PDCAAS of 1.0. to demonstrate its neutral taste.

 Greg Belt said they have put in the work to make EverPro the best plant-based protein ingredient possible the consumer, the formulation, and for the planet. Currently, EverGrain is finalising its inaugural Upcycled Barley Nutrition Compendium that it will reveal at the SupplySide West trade show that is being hosted in Las Vegas, US in November 2022.
