UK to Launch Autonomous Driving Vehicles by 2025

The United Kingdom said that it wants a widespread launch of self-driving vehicles on the roads by 2025. The United Kingdom announced its plans for the new laws and funding of 119.09 million dollars. The funding package includes 35 million pounds for safety research, which will feed into new legislation planned to be in place by 2025.

As said by the government of the United Kingdom, it wants to take advantage of the emerging market for autonomous vehicles, which is valued at 42 billion pounds, and is estimated to create 38,000 new jobs in the upcoming years.

Grant Shapps, transport secretary of the United Kingdom, said that the country wants to be at the forefront of developing, and using this advanced technology. This is the reason why; the government of the United Kingdom is investing millions in research into the safety and setting the legislation to ensure that the country gains the full benefits of the technology.

The report also claims that some vehicles with self-driving features could be allowed on the large roads of the country by 2023.
