UK Records Hundreds of New Omicron XE Covid-19 Variant Cases

According to the reports, there has been an increase in the cases of the new Omicron sub-variant XE in the United Kingdom, which has been reaching a record high for the novel corona virus pandemic. The Office for National Statistics has also reported that, 4.9 million people in the United Kingdom have had novel corona virus in the previous week.

The relaxation of the novel corona virus restriction and the Omicron BA.2 sub-variant have been thought for being responsible for the increase in the corona virus infections.

The Omicron XE variant has been a combination of the Omicron BA.1 and BA.2 sub-variants, but with three of the separate and distinct mutations, and the World Health Organization (WHO) said, the XE Omicron variant recombinant can possibly be more transmissible, which had been firstly detected in the United Kingdom on 19^th January 2022.

The Health Security Agency of the United Kingdom said that, the most recent data has shown that, the XE Omicron covid-19 variant had a growth rate of 9.8 percent above the BA.2 sub-variant of the Omicron.

But it has been cautioned that, as this has been estimating has not remained consistent as the new data have been added and it cannot yet be interpreted as an expected growth of the advantage for the recombinant. Although, the statistics said that, 4.9 million people in the United Kingdom have corona virus infection and the new XE sub-variant has been thought for having a similar symptoms to the original Omicron covid-19 variant.
