UK Government to Cut Fuel Duty by 5p Per Litre

The government of the United Kingdom has now confirmed that, it is going to be cutting the fuel duty by 5p in the response to the rapid increase in the prices of petrol and diesel. The fuel prices has been setting the records in the United Kingdom and not in a very good way.

If the people are driving regularly then they will have felt the pinch of the prices of petrol hitting around 1.70 pounds per litre on average and 1.80 pounds in diesel. The government of the United Kingdom has also announced that, it is temporarily going to reduce or cut the fuel duty, a tax paid when buying petrol or diesel, by 5p per litre for the purpose of helping the drivers for dealing with the financial burden.

According to the reports, this has been the greatest cut on the fuel duty in the terms of the total money saving that has been applied across all the rates of fuel at once, and this new fuel duty cut had come into force on 23rd March 2022 and it is going to last for 12 months.

Just before the cut had been confirmed by the government of the United Kingdom, it had been announced that, the fuel duty is not going to increase in the tax year of 2022-2023, and adding to that, the new 5p cut and the vehicle drivers can possibly save an average of around 100 pounds over the coming 12 months.
