British Gas to Increase Energy Tariffs in UK From 1st April 2022

The company ‘British Gas’ said, the company is going to be increasing the company’s standard variable tariff for the purpose of reflecting the announced increase in the price cap, and two weeks before, the energy regulator of the United Kingdom has announced that, the record increase in the gas prices across the globe is going to be seeing the prices if the energy by 693 pounds from 1^st April 2022.

The companies including ScottishPower and EDF had been the first suppliers for announcing the changes to their energy tariffs in the line with the price cap of Ofgem, and the company ‘British Gas’ said, it is going to be contacting the customers for the purpose of informing the customers about the changes in the bill prices.

Centrica, parent company of British Gas has also said that, it is going to be protecting the credit balances of the customers, and the company also said, Centrica has been protecting the deposits of the customers and are currently holding 294 million dollars in a different bank account.

Centrica also said, the current energy crisis in the market in the United Kingdom has been seen a large number of the suppliers using the credit of the customers for the purpose of funding the unsustainable commercial models and also subsequently collapsing and has resulted in the disappearance of over 500 million pounds of the money of UK consumers.
