Microsoft to Change Subscription Packages for Xbox in UK

Followed by an investigation by the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) of the United Kingdom, the company ‘Microsoft’ has now agreed for changing the way that, it has been handling the subscriptions for the Xbox, and the company is now going to be requiring for refunding and also cancelling any of the memberships that are inactive to the company’s services like Game Pass and Xbox Live.

The investigation of the CMA of the United Kingdom has started in the year 2019 and it has also been directing the company ‘Microsoft’ for the purpose of providing better information in the upfront for the online gaming services of the company. The current practice of Microsoft has been involving the offer to the users in the United Kingdom, along with three months of the Xbox Game Pass after which, the membership has been automatically renewing itself.

The Competition and Market Authority (CMA) of the United Kingdom has been concerned about the ease of accessing the features that has been allowing the users for easily signing up for a service but it is never giving any detail that has been specifying of a process for the cancellation.

This information has been leading to the cases where a person has entirely been forgetting about the subscription but it has also been continuing to get charged for the service without ever realising the chance.

The company ‘Microsoft’ will now have to contact all the existing customers on the process of recurring the contracts for 12 months.
