Family Farms Continue to Lead Agriculture in US

According to a report by the Economic Research Service of the Department of Agriculture of the United States, the family farms have remain the primary source of the production of the food in the United States. Christine Whitt, co-author of the report said that, they find that 98 percent of the farms and family farms of the United States and they have been accounting for 87 percent of the production of the farm, and this has been largely remained unchanged when they have compared the data with 2011.

According to the data from the report, the survey known as Agriculture Resource Management of 2020 has been conducted by the National Agriculture Statistics Service and the ERS of the United States.

Christine Whitt also said that, the 2021 edition of the report has been describing the characteristics of the 2 million farms in the United States in 2020, and especially, the report has been examining what the farms in the United States produce and how much they will be profiting along with the participation of the farms in the programs of federal agriculture.

This report has also been looking more closely at the well-being of the farm household, and the Department of Agriculture of the United States has been defining a farm as any of the place, which has produced and sold and normally it would have produced and sold for at least 1,000 dollars of the products of the agriculture in the United States.
