Covid-19 Vaccine of Moderna Gets EMA Approval for Children Between 12 to 17 Years

The Spikevax vaccine developed by Moderna has got the green light from the European Medicines Agency (EMA) for its use in the children coming in the age group of 12 years to 17 years, which had been responsible for making it the second covid-19 vaccine jab for the adolescents for use in the continent of Europe.

The European Medicines Agency (EMA), by using the name of Moderna said, the use of the new Spikevax vaccine in the children between the age group of 12 years to 17 years of age is going to be the same as it was in the people of 18 years of age and above.

The European Medicines Agency (EMA) said, the Spikevax vaccine is going to be given to the children in two injections, between a time span of four weeks, and this decision made by the medicines watchdog of Europe is followed by the green light of the first novel corona virus vaccine for the children between 12 years to 17 years in the continent of Europe, which is produced by Pfizer an BioNTech in May 2021.

The effects of the Spikevax vaccine have been studied and tested among 3,732 children which are aged between 12 to 17 years and the EMA also said, the study have also been showing that, the Spikevax vaccine of Moderna has developed a comparable antibody response in the 12 years to 17 years old children to the antibody response seen in the adults between the age of 18 years to 25 years.
