Judge: Google to Face Lawsuit for Its Voice Assistant Privacy

Beth Labson Freeman, a district judge in United States said, the technology giant ‘Google’ will have to face a lawsuit by accusing the company for illegally disseminating and recording the private conversations of the people, who had accidentally triggered the voice activated Google Assistant on the smartphones.

The decision of the judge has been responsible in letting the users in the action, that was proposed for pursuing the claims, that the company ‘Google’ and its parent company ‘Alphabet’ have violated the privacy laws of California State, and several people have also been claiming that, the companies have violated the laws of privacy and breach of the contract claims.

The judge has also dismissed the California consumer protection claims, but he also said, they can also be refiled. The Google assistant has been designed for reacting when the users of the mobile devices are using the hot words like ‘Hey, Google’ or ‘Okay Google’, which are similar to Siri of Apple.

But the users of Google Assistant have been saying that, the technology company Google, had no right for using their conversations for the purpose of advertising when the Google Assistant have misperceived the hot words.

While seeking the dismissal, the company Google have said, the users have been failed for showing that they were harmed or Google broke any of the contractual guarantees, and the company also said, Google never promises that, the Google Assistant is going to activate only when the users will intend to activate it.
