Envision Signs 3.8-Billion Euro Green Tech Deal with Spain

The government of Spain has signed a partnership with Chinese renewables player ‘Envision’ to promote projects in the fields of battery manufacturing, energy storage, renewables, renewable hydrogen, and digital technologies. Within the framework of collaboration between Envision and the Ministries of Industry, Commerce, and Tourism, an estimated investment of 3.8 billion euros is planned.

Reyes Maroto, minister of industry, commerce and tourism, said these projects show the commitment of Envision, a leading green technology company, which has opted for Spain as its headquarters in Europe. He said several autonomous communities in Spain will benefit from the creation of over 4,000 direct green technology jobs and from industrial activity committed to the energy and digital transition.

He said, they have selected Alaczar de San Juan, Navalmoral de la Mata, and Navas del Marques for the location of the new plants. He also highlighted that, the selection of three small municipalities as investment locations by Envision has been a clear sign that the recovery, resilience, and transformation plan improves the territorial cohesion of the country.

The plan is also contributing to decreasing the gap between the rural world and the city, and the plan also promotes actions in the areas, which are most affected by depopulation.

Jose Dominguez, president of Envision Spain, said the availability of solar and wind energy represents a value for the company as sources of renewable electricity across Spain.
