Hyundai North America is going to be recalling 281,000 vehicles in the region of North America over the over the seat-belt issue that can possible explode and the project metal fragments that has been causing injuries.
The recall of the vehicles that comes after three injuries and is also including some 2019-2022 Accent, along with 2021-2023 Elantra and 2021-2022 Elantra hybrid vehicles and in that particular event of a crash, the passenger or front driver and the side seat-belt pretensioners can possibly explode upon the deployment and the dealers are also going to be securing the seat-belt pretensioners with a cap.
The seat-belt pretensioners has been a part of the system that is locking the seat belt in the place during a crash for the purpose of providing additional protection to the occupants. This recall is expanding and replacing four recalls in the past and All Accent, Elantra HEV and Elantra vehicles is already repaired under the previous recalls is going to need to have the new recall fix to be completed.
Hyundai said that, the new recalls is also including 239,000 vehicles in the United States and around 42,000 vehicles in Canada and two injuries had also been reported in the United States and also one injury in Singapore. Hyundai Said, it had still been actively investigating the Venue and Genesis GV70/GV80 vehicles that had been previously recalled.
