Report: Tesla Stops Production Over Supply Problems

The electric vehicle company ‘Tesla Inc’, has stopped the production at its plant based on Shanghai because of the issues related to the supplies as said by the people familiar with the matter.

This halt in the production has come just three weeks after the company has partially resumed the production at the plant of the company in Shanghai on 19th April 2022 followed by a closure of 22 days caused by the novel corona virus lockdown in the city, which has been reflecting the complexity and uncertainties of keeping the manufacturing going as China is battling the novel corona virus.

It is still not clear when the problems in the supply can possibly be resolved and when Tesla can possibly resume the production and Shanghai has now been in the sixth week of the corona virus lockdown.

Among the suppliers of Tesla facing the issues has been Aptiv, a wire harness making company, which had to shop shipping the supplies from a plant that is supplying Tesla and General Motors after the corona virus infections had been found among the employees of the company.

The company ‘Tesla’ does not responded immediately to a query for making any comment, and the company had also been aiming to increase the output at the company’s Shanghai plant ton 2,600 cars as the company is seeking to restore the production to the levels before the corona virus lockdown.
