EDF Renewables Begins Construction of 50MW Solar Plant in UK

The EDF Renewables has now started the construction on the company’s first major solar energy project in the United Kingdom, which is a 50 megawatts Sutton Bridge Solar Farm based in Lincolnshire, the United Kingdom. The project is followed by the public consultation by both the EDF Renewables and South Holland District Council that was planning the permission had granted in the month of March 2021.

The early-stage works have now started on the site along with the generation of the electricity most likely by the end of 2022. Ben Fawcett, solar head of EDF Renewables said, at a time, during tackling the climate change and security of energy have been at the forefront of all their minds, and the company is very proud of starting the work on the Sutton Bridge Solar Farm and they are now acknowledging the role that, the local community has been playing in the process of helping the company to make that happen.

He said, in addition to the annual community payment of 20,000 pounds and they are going to be implementing a plan of biodiversity management, which is including the planting of the native species hedgerows for the purpose of supporting the local wildlife.

The EDF Renewables has been looking to install the electric vehicle charging points, which is near to the site of helping the local community transition to the ownership of the electric vehicles.
