The company ‘Uniper’ has revealed that, the company has signed a MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with the company ‘Shell Gas & Power Developments’, that is going to be seeing the pair of the explore joint opportunities for the purpose of coupling the demand for mobility and industry with production, storage and supply of Hydrogen.
At the centre of the partnership, it is going to be the exploration of a number of projects, that is including the important infrastructure for the transport of carbon dioxide and hydrogen on a large scale coming from the ports of Wilhelmshaven, Germany and Rotterdam, Netherlands to the region of North Rhine Westphalia, which is the industrial heart of Germany.
The company Shell is also planning to boost the electrolyzers to 100 megawatts as the company has now been looking to transform the current and existing asset of the near Cologne into a chemicals and energy park. The partnership is also going to be looking for exploring the supply of Hydrogen from the planned hydrogen production sites of the company Uniper located at Wilhelmshaven and Rotterdam to the Rheinland Energy and Chemicals Park of the company Shell.
Axel Wietfeld said, chief executive of Uniper Hydrogen said, their mission is to connect the large-scale hydrogen projects in the continent of Europe along with the industrial customers for the purpose of enabling the decarbonization process of their economy. He also said, through the medium of Hydrogen, the company ‘Uniper’ can possibly provide a carbon dioxide free solution for transporting the renewable electricity from the coastal regions of the continent.
