Automobile

In the UK, BYD, best known for its electric buses, introduced its first electric passenger car. The first BYD C-SUV to use the automaker’s new e-Platform 3.0 is the Atto 3. It has a 60.48 kWh blade battery, a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating, a claimed 260-mile WLTP combined range, and DC charging (30%-80%) in 29 minutes.

The first deliveries begin on March 15 and orders have been opened. The starting price is GBP36,490. Pendragon, Arnold Clark Automobiles, Lookers Motor Group, and LSH Auto Holdings are the first confirmed UK dealer groups. The first ‘Trailblazer’ display areas will open unavoidably in Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow and Milton Keynes.

BYD asserts that it is the only manufacturer of New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) to have developed its own drive motors, motor controller systems, batteries, and semiconductors. Active, Comfort, and Design are the names of three model variations. The Active model will be available in the second quarter after the Comfort and Design models are sold out.

BYD said its e-Stage 3.0 contains a world first efficiently manufactured, profoundly coordinated eight out of one electric powertrain interfacing all electric control units and the board frameworks. Such consistent profound joining conveys generally speaking framework effectiveness of 89%, it added.

In addition, the car is said to have the first direct cooling and heating system for power batteries in the industry. This system uses heat from the surrounding environment to increase thermal efficiency by up to 20% in the winter. With excellent low temperature driving range and intelligent thermal management, efficiency is achieved across a wide temperature range.
