Evolve+ is a new EV subscription service that was announced by Hyundai Capital America and Hyundai Motor America. Customers who want to drive an electric vehicle without having to buy one or sign a long-term lease are the target audience for this month-to-month service. Hyundai has a clear objective: to make people more aware of and interested in EVs ahead of the transition to an electric future.
Insurance, registration, upkeep, and roadside assistance are all included in the program, as are 1,000 monthly driving miles. The Kona Electric, a finalist for our 2023 Best Electric SUV for the Money award with high marks for its potent powertrain, driving range, and extensive standard features, costs $699 per month. Additionally, the Ioniq 5, which will set customers back $899 per month, is an option. The Ioniq 5 has a good driving range and well-balanced ride-and-handling dynamics, earning it high marks as well.
The Evolve+ program can be cancelled at any time. In point of fact, Hyundai’s objective was to develop a program for the EV-curious car shopper with no paperwork, no commitment, and no long-term loan. Additionally, Hyundai made the procedure as simple as possible. Using their smartphones, customers can place orders and renew on their own terms. Customers simply visit the dealership to pick up the vehicle after selecting the vehicle and agreeing to the terms of the payment through the Evolve+ app.
The program is driven by more than just EV curiosity. The program may also be of interest to drivers who only require a car for a short period of time, such as snowbirds and workers on remote assignments.
The Evolve+ term is only 28 days, whereas other subscription services require customers to commit to a minimum term of three to five months. Subscribers must be at least 25 years old, have a clean driving record for three years, and have a credit score of 650 or higher to be eligible. By the end of 2023, additional dealerships in six states will offer the program, which is currently available at select dealerships.
