Kate Hudson: Nepotism More Prevalent in Other Industries than Hollywood

Entertainment

Actress Kate Hudson says she doesn’t care about the growing controversy over nepotism in Hollywood or the privileges that come with it. However, the practice may be more common in other fields than the entertainment industry in the United States.

The discussion of nepotism babies, a large group of newly famous celebrities who are descended from established stars, marked Hollywood’s moment of reckoning with nepotism culture.

Hudson, the daughter of Hollywood veterans Bill Hudson and Goldie Hawn, acknowledged in an interview that she comes from a well-connected film family.

She added that she is unconcerned about nepotism. When she looks at her children, she sees a family of storytellers. It is certainly in their blood. It doesn’t matter what people call it; it won’t change anything.

The feature article “The Year of the Nepo Baby” by an entertainment news outlet known as ‘Vulture’ has sparked the debate regarding nepotism in Hollywood.

The list of famous people in the cover story included young stars like Lily-Rose Depp, John David Washington, and Maya Hawke as well as established stars like George Clooney, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Michael Douglas.

Hudson, who is also the stepdaughter of Hollywood star Kurt Russell, added that hard work is the only way to succeed in the entertainment industry, so one’s background is irrelevant.

In a previous Instagram post, actor Jamie Lee Curtis criticized the debate over nepotism, arguing that it is unfair to assume that all “nepo babies” are untalented or unworthy of fame.
