According to a report former Manchester United striker and Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo is set join Saudi Arabian football club Al Nassr. Cristiano Ronaldo will sign an agreement that will tie him to Al Nassr and Saudi Arabia until 2030, says report.
Cristiano Ronaldo will spend the remaining two and a half years of his contract as an ambassador for Saudi Arabia’s bid to host the 2030 World Cup alongside Egypt and Greece, according to the report. The winner of the 2030 bid will be chosen at the 74th FIFA Congress in 2024. Lionel Messi, is also an ambassador for Saudi Arabia’s tourism industry.
Cristiano Ronaldo had previously denied reports that he would join Al Nassr following the FIFA World Cup 2022 Qatar. The striker said that, it is not true, following Portugal’s 6-1 victory over Switzerland in their World Cup round of 16 match.
According to reports, Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Al Nassr will put an end to his elite European career as well as his hopes of winning the Champions League because he was unable to find a team that would allow him to play in the UCL. He was looking for a new team after his contract with Manchester United was terminated in November 2022.
The striker has slammed Manchester United and manager Erik ten Hag in the interview, claiming that he feels betrayed by the club and that high-ranking individuals have attempted to force him out of the football club.
